What happens when Maggie Rand's estranged husband Joshua and adopted sons are killed in an accident?  Maggie finds herself alone, pregnant with her Josh's child, and pursued by Josh's ex-boss, Kenneth Remley.  Remley is insisting that she has major financial obligations brought on by her husband, when she realizes he wants to systematically take over her life.

Ken Remley needs Maggie's acquiescence in serious business matters.  If he can't get her to cooperate he will have to consider her a dangerous liability.  A liability he will have to remedy.

 Taking her two dogs and her few remaining possessions, Maggie leaves California, bent on starting a new life for herself and her unborn child.

As she travels she discovers she is hunted as a missing person and drives into the Arizona mountains.  Then, as if by fate, Maggie is shot, wounded by a trigger-happy ranch hand and forced into Doctor/Rancher Ben Karr's world of hospital and antiseptics.

The largest part of Ben's world is his hospital clinic.  And having one of his ranch hands shoot a beautiful trespasser tilts that world on end.  He is determined to find out who she is and why she is on his property.  His resolve doubles when Remley arrives demanding to take Maggie back to California and her fearful reaction on seeing the man.  As Ben investigates
both of them he forces himself to resist the love he is feeling for Maggie and her unborn child.  But when kidnappers hired by Remley grab Maggie, placing her at death's door, he is forced into realizing the depth of that love.

LIABILITY is an entertaining romantic suspense novel that will thrill fans of the sub-genre. The story line is exciting because the characters seem genuine. Maggie is a brave damsel in distress, who wants to protect her knight in shining armor from harm rather than have him rescue her. Ben is a warm individual reaching out to people. N.C. Anderson makes her on-line novel burst with starlight.

Maggie Rand will do just about everything to save her unborn baby's life. If that means running from legal troubles and a too earnest suitor, so be it. With no word to anyone, she takes off from her safe but tragic world and finds...more danger. She'll recover from the accidental wound received in the cave where she was hiding, but will she recover from the loss of her heart to Dr. Ben Karr?

Ben has always known married life isn't for him. What women can deal with the horrible hours and grueling pace of his life as a doctor? But in Maggie, he finds that dreams just might come true. Just as soon as he helps her take care of the past which is struggling to destroy her.

LIABILITY is a fast read, that left me guessing what was 'REALLY' wrong until the end. Ken Remley made an excellent villain, and Ben and Maggie worked well together as a couple. Ms. Anderson will soon have a following of loyal readerswith books of this caliber.
